On Wedensday the 7th my class went to Waihi Beach to learn some more on how to stay safe in the water. When we got there the lifeguards went through all the rules. Then we split up into four groups the Yr 7 boys went with James the Yr 7 girls went with Nick. The Yr 8’s Split with Rickila and Shanaye. The Yr 7’s went for a tour around while the Yr 8’s learnt how to spot a rip after that we swapped around. I learnt how to spot a rip the four signs were. Foamy water/Debre, Criss Cross waves, Calm Patch, Discoloured water. After that we had morning tea then we went out to play Seaweed and Beach Flags. Beach Flags is a game where you lye on your tummy facing the opposite way the sticks are someone says head up head down. Then you run and try and get a stick. We had Lunch and went in the water to do some activities. After that we had free time in the water and got changed and went home.
